The 2022 Jeep Gladiator is a mid-sized truck with a crew cab configuration, four doors, and four trim levels. It seats five passengers. The first Gladiator was released in 2020 and has been a popular addition to the Jeep lineup of vehicles. Drivers love its rugged utility and unparalleled off-road performance.

1. Iconic Exterior

Who doesn’t recognize a Jeep when they see one? The Jeep Gladiator looks like the original Jeep created for the Army during World War II except it has a truck bed. It offers the same rugged design and durability of the original Jeep. Drivers may choose customizations that allow the doors and roof to be removed for the ultimate off-road experience.

2. Interior Design

The inside of the vehicle is designed to be easily cleaned. Drivers may choose one of the higher end models with rubber plugs in the floor and rubber flooring so the truck can be washed out.

3. Off-Road Performance

All Gladiator models come with the 4-wheel drive as standard. It can handle any weather or terrain. Because of its clearance level it excels when going through water. The Gladiator handles off-road better than any other truck in its class including the Ford Ranger, Toyota Tacoma, or the Honda Ridgeline.

4. Engine/Transmission

Drivers have two different engine options available. The first is a 3.6-liter PENTASTAR V-6 with 285 horsepower. For those who prefer a diesel engine, they may choose the 3.0-liter ECODIESEL with 260 horsepower. The engines may be paired with either the 8-speed automatic transmission or the 6-speed manual transmission.

5. Towing Capacity

The towing capacity of the Gladiator is greater than the capacity of Jeep’s Wrangler. Standard towing capacity is 4,000 to 4,500 lbs., which is impressive for a truck this size. If drivers need more, Jeep offers an inexpensive upgrade package that allows the truck to tow and impressive 7,650 lbs.

6. Customization Options

One of the reasons this truck is such a great vehicle is that it is infinitely customizable even when coming from the factory. Drivers may customize the four different trims any way they want, and there is an incredible parts aftermarket that allows for further customization. Body kits, powertrain upgrades, and off-road equipment are just a few of the customization options available.

7. Infotainment System

The UConnect infotainment system offers either a 7-inch or 8.4-inch screen. Apple CarPlay or Android Auto integration allow drivers to take hands-free calls, get message alerts, or play their music. Upgrades include Wi-Fi Everywhere for those who want to stay connected to the Internet while off-road.
