Located about 35 miles northwest of downtown Columbus, the city of Marysville, OH, is a great base for day-trippers wanting to explore the cities and nature reserves that the region has to offer. Covering an area of about 13,500 acres, Grand Lake St. Mary’s State Park sits along the shores of Grand Lake, one of the largest inland bodies of water in the state. This state park is a popular destination for numerous outdoor activities and sports, including picnicking, boating, selective hunting, hiking, wildlife watching, and camping.

3. Buck Creek State Park

Located about 30 miles southwest of downtown Marysville, Buck Creek State Park is another excellent spot for families and groups of friends looking for a getaway from the city. Covering an area of about 4,000 acres, this place is a great destination for swimming, fishing, camping, boating, hiking, and fishing. Getting here from downtown Marysville takes about 40 minutes by car.
